NFSG brings a wealth of experience to its client assignments. The NFSG team of Associates brings over 100 years of combined experience in health care to a multitude of varied assignments for their clients. The following list shows examples of current or previous projects:

• Transitional financial management for newly purchased, religious-affiliated hospital in Kansas – provided Interim CFO services for ten months Interim PFS Manager for 11 month, and Director of Accounting for four months at a time when hospital faced extreme financial pressures as well as the challenges of having just been purchased. This financial turnaround saw the hospital go from losses in excess of a million dollars in each of the preceding three years to operating in the black.

• Transitional financial management at large Midwest religious based facility- provided Interim Controller for four months while recruitment process was in progress.

• Operational review for hospital in the Midwest – performed comprehensive review of the financial operations with extensive recommendations for improvement in financial management and financial operating results.

• Transitional financial management for major not-for-profit health system in New Jersey – provided Interim CFO and Interim Director of Patient Financial Services during time of transition following turnover of several key positions in the financial management of this organization. Outcomes included sale of hospital owned nursing home that was operating under the protection of the bankruptcy court and the eventual merger of the hospital with a faith based system. Operations Reviews in Finance, Patient Financial Services, Managed Care, and Information Systems aided in the turn around and setting goals for operational changes.

• Transitional management for major not-for-profit health system in Massachusetts- provided Interim CIO and directed the establishment data structures and reporting that were responsive to the information needs of the successful restructuring effort in progress during this time.


• As part of turn around team – provided guidance and structure in developing decision support system for client hospital. Integrated the data from a diverse set of systems to establish a data warehouse which provides management with views of operations which reflect cost, clinical outcomes, comparison of protocols and a capability to evaluate cases through the continuum of care

• Transitional financial management for mid-sized hospital in Kansas – facilitated the development of the first Medicare approved Rural Referral (EACH/RPCH) Network in the nation, which increased profit by $6 million annually

• As part of turn around team – provided several interim management positions including CFO and Controller a faith based hospital in the Northeast – during post merger time frame, assisted in the closure of one facility and sale of that facility. Financial turn around resulted in eliminating losses of $1.5 Million per month becoming profitable operations of $750,000 per moth.

• Financial turnaround management for a small rural not-for-profit system in the Midwest – provided financial services as part of a team managing the turnaround plan for this hospital.

• Interim Management during Sales, mergers, and closures of facilities, including liquidation of assets

• Interim CNO for profit hospital
